Allusions[]
- The OUTER LIMITS episode called, TIME TO TIME, does have one allusion. The allusion is to the rock'n'roll group, Jefferson Airplane. This group was extremely popular during the time travel episode in this story, where the travel was to the year 1969. In particular, the allusion is to the rock'n'roll song called, "Crown of Creation." During an anti-war speech given by the character played by Paul Popowich, the background music takes the form of a song that is similar to "Crown of Creation." The music occurring during the anti-war rally gets louder and louder. It is reasonable to expect that John Van Tongerem, who composed the music for this Outer Limits episode, composed this rock'n'roll song. I listened to top 40 radio every day during the entire 1960's, and my observations regarding this allusion are correct. (Tom Brody, Berkeley, CA)
Bloopers[]
- This is to disclose one blooper in TIME TO TIME. The plot of TIME TO TIME includes time travel back to Berkeley, California in the year 1969, where the plot includes footage on the Univ. of California at Berkeley campus. I was an undergrad at U.C. Berkeley from 1969 to 1973, and a graduate student at U.C. Berkeley from 1974 to 1980, and so my observation is correct. At one point, one of the characters, played by Kristin Lehman, refers to a part of the U.C. Berkeley campus called, "The Quad." Although some college campuses in the United States and Canada have locations called, "The Quad," it was never the case that Univ. of California had a location called, "The Quad." Aside from this blooper, every other aspect of the depiction of the U.C. Berkeley campus from the year 1969, is absolutely and stunningly correct. (Tom Brody, Ph.D.)
Quotes[]
- Control voice: It is said the moving finger of fate, having written, is indelible. But what if destiny's trail could be erased and etched anew?
....
- Control voice: As our scientific knowledge expands so do the borders of our explorations, ultimately moving beyond the bounds of three dimensions.
