"Time in Advance" is the fifth episode of season one of the British science fiction television series Out of the Unknown. It was directed by Peter Sasdy and written by Paul Erickson and William Tenn. It first aired on BBC2 on Monday, November 1st, 1965. In this episode a future reality exists where if a man agrees to serve a prison sentence in advance, then he will earn himself the freedom to commit a crime upon his release. Two recently freed convicts Nick Crandall and Otto Henck engage in such an endeavor, but must find a way to survive the savage environment they are sent to.
