Overview[]
Otto Octavius was a brilliant atomic researcher who invented a set of mechanical arms in order to handle dangerous radioactive substances. A freak accident in a laboratory gifted him with the ability to mentally manipulate the arms and he refashioned them into a chest harness to become the supervillain known as Doctor Octopus. "Doc Ock" has since gone on to a life of crime and is one of the Spider-Man's most dangerous foes. It could be said that Doc achieved the ultimate victory over his lifelong adversary by transplanting his mind into Spider-Man's body and carrying on the wall-crawler's legacy as the Superior Spider-Man.
