Ostriches are a type of flightless bird. They are native to the continent of Africa and are characterized by the great height, long legs and elongated necks. They are the tallest birds in the world. Ostrich meat is considered to be a delicacy amongst some, owing largely to it's leanness and its taste has been compared to that of beef (not everything can taste like chicken).

- Eight Legged Freaks: In the 2002 film Eight Legged Freaks, Mayor Wade owned an ostrich farm and prided himself on his ability to raise healthy ostriches. He also enjoyed eating ostrich burgers at the local diner. Unfortunately, Wade's farm was invaded by a horde of giant mutant spiders that killed and consumed most of his ostriches.
