Oscorp is a fictional business featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and is associated with the Spider-Man line of comic titles. It first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man, Volume 1 #37 in June 1966.
Overview[]
Oscorp was a multinational corporation specializing in research and development. It was founded by Norman Osborn and his business partner Mendel Stromm, and was originally known as Osborn Industries. The corporate headquarters was based out of Oscorp Tower in Manhattan, New York City, New York.
Stromm began embezzling money from the company, and was arrested and sent to prison. Afterward, Norman Osborn assumed complete control of the company.
Oscorp was awarded several military contracts and developed scientific devices and processes intended to benefit the country's armed forces divisions. Among these technological marvel's was a winged flying apparatus and a special type of hand grenade. Norman Osborn incorporated both of these devices as the Goblin Glider and Pumpkin bombs when he assumed the costumed identity of the Green Goblin.
