The Order of the Gash is a cadre of demons known as Cenobites. They are part of the Hellraiser multimedia franchise and first appeared in the Clive Barker novella The Hellbound Heart, first published by HarperCollins in 1986.
The members of the Order are four hideously mutilated entities who describe themselves as "explorers in the further reaches of experience". The leader of the Order is a nameless Cenobite known only as the Lead Cenobite, but has also become more famously known as Pinhead. Under Pinhead's leadership are an unnamed Female Cenobite (also referred to by production staff as "Deep Throat"), the Butterball Cenobite and the Chatterer.
