The One is an American science fiction/action film directed by James Wong. Produced by Revolution Studios and Hard Eight Pictures, it was released theatrically in the United States on November 2nd, 2001. The One stars Jet Li in the dual roles of Gabe Law and Gabriel Yulaw - two identical men who hail from alternate realities. Gabe Law believes that if he seeks out and murders his interdimensional counterparts, he will acquire great, god-like power. Gabe travels from his native Alpha Universe to the Beta Universe to kill the last remaining counterpart, Gabriel Yulaw. Officers Harry Roedecker and Evan Funsch of the Multiverse Authority (MVA) track him across dimensions in the hopes of preventing Gabe Law from inheriting total power and becoming "The One".
