Oliver is a fictional college professor and viral apocalypse survivor and a recurring character featured in the Crossed line of comic book titles published by Avatar Press. He first appeared in Crossed: Badlands #29 in May, 2013.

Biography[]

In the old world, Oliver was a Caucasian male in his apparent forties who worked as a scientist and teacher with a degree in anthropology. When the Crossed virus began turning innocent people into violent lunatics, Oliver gathered with several other un-infected and took up shelter in a large building.

Whereas others sought a way to combat the infected, Oliver instead spent a great deal of time observing them; studying them and learning as much as he could about their habits and proclivities. It was Oliver who formulated the tactic of covering oneself with blood and marking their faces with trademark cruciform rash of the infected so that they could move about within their ranks without exposing themselves as un-infected.

One young survivor named Tina, turned her sights on Oliver in a lascivious way, but this was partially done as a reaction to having her advances spurned by a police officer named Alan. Oliver was not above taking advantage of this situation and the two had sex with one another.

When the group split up to explore different safe areas of the city, Oliver had Tina accompany him. They went to a supermarket called ShopDrop where Tina tried to seduce Oliver again. While enjoying the services that Tina was willing to offer, Oliver noted a horde of Crossed watching them from outside the storefront window. The Crossed burst into the store, and Oliver quickly turned on Tina, offering her up to the Crossed in exchange for his own life.[1]

Equipment[]

  • Revolver: Oliver armed himself with a revolver as a means of self defense.
