- In the novel Cyborg, the Office of Scientific Intelligence was called the Office of Strategic Operations (OSO). This in turn was a reworking of the real world intelligence agency, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), which operated in the interests of the United States between 1942 and 1945. This name was also used in the 1972 TV pilot movie, The Six Million Dollar Man.
