"Nose" Norton is a fictional character who played a minor role in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Daredevil, Volume 1 #148 in 1977 and has also appeared in three issues of Amazing Spider-Man.
Biography[]
Nose Norton was your typical police informant who has had the good fortune to wheel and deal with the superhero community. He has had dealings with Daredevil as well as Spider-Man.
Nose Norton usually conducted business out of Josie's Bar in Hell's Kitchen, but also had secret meetings with people at Maxie's Bar. It was here that he met with reporters Betty Brant and Ned Leeds. [1]
Nose Norton came into information relating to the Brand Corporation; information that was sensitive enough to expose Brand's illicit operations involving stolen industrial secrets, making Nose Norton a highly sought after man. J. Jonah Jameson of the Daily Bugle issues a $1,500 reward for anyone who could find Norton.
Brand's people, seeking to keep their affairs secret, hired Anton Miguel Rodriguez, the Tarantula to assassinate Nose Norton.
At the time, Norton was hiding out in one-room apartment above Murray's Bar in Staten Island. Reporter Ben Urich and photographer Peter Parker tracked him down first at Murray's, but the Tarantula appeared only moments later. Peter quickly changed to Spider-Man to fight Tarantula, but agents working for Brand arrived on the scene as well. Nose Norton was shot, but survived the injuries and was taken to the hospital. [2]
