Nora Allen is a fictional housewife and a minor, yet pivotal character featured in the CW Network live-action superhero action series The Flash. She was played by actress Michelle Harrison and first appeared in a flashback scene in the show's pilot episode.
Biography[]
Nora Allen was the wife of Henry Allen and mother of Barry Allen. When Barry was only eleven-years-old, a being moving at super-speed and wearing a yellow costume invaded the Allen's home and stabbed Nora through the heart, killing her. Some unknown factor prevented Barry remaining at the scene of the crime, and he was found later some distance down the street. Henry Allen tried his best to save his wife, but was completely helpless. Henry was found guilty of Nora's murder and sentenced to prison. Barry - the sole witness to the crime, always knew that his father was innocent, even though all of the evidence pointed to his guilt. More than a decade later, Barry convinced Central City police detective Joe West of his father's innocent, and West re-opened the case on the Nora Allen murder.

- Nora Allen is based on the DC Comics character, Nora Allen, who first appeared in The Flash #126 in February, 1962. The character was created by writer John Broome and artist Carmine Infantino. The TV version of Nora Allen was created by showrunners Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Geoff Johns and director David Nutter.
- In the original The Flash television series that aired on CBS from 1990-1991, Nora Allen was played by actress Priscilla Pointer.
- An animated version of Nora Allen appeared in the 2013 film, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, where she was voiced by actress Grey DeLisle.
- Actress Michelle Harrison is also known for playing Diana Bolton on Continuum. She has also appeared in episodes of First Wave, Stargate SG-1, The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone, Andromeda and the 2003 film Paycheck.
