Nightbreed, also known as Clive Barker's Nightbreed, is an American ongoing comic book series of the supernatural adventure subgenre of horror. It is based on the 1990 feature film Nightbreed, which in turn is an adaptation of the 1988 novel Cabal by author Clive Barker. The series was published by Boom! Studios from May, 2014 to April, 2015 and ran for twelve issues. Notable creators on the series include writer Marc Andreyko and artists Piotr Kowalski and Emmanuel Xerx. The series centers on the Tribes of the Moon, also known as the Night Breed, who are a coalition of different races demonstrating various unique and often horrific abilities. The Night Breed is a secret society of monsters and misfits that hide away from humans, but have been a part of this world since time immemorial. This series explores both the past and the present of this clandestine tribe, unleashing new secrets and horrors as they fight to coexist with mankind.
