Night vision goggles are goggles that allow one to perceive a visual landscape during nighttime hours with increased clarity. They are most commonly used by members of the military, though some civilians may have bought some off the back of a comic book in the 1970s. There are variations of this equipment, which may be incorporated into larger pieces of headgear. For example, the Yautja aliens from the Predator film series have a form of infrared enhancement in the lenses of their helmets.
In Jurassic Park, John Hammond's grandson, Tim, found a pair of night vision goggles in one of the park jeeps. A lawyer named Donald Gennaro, noting that they were likely expensive, told Tim to put them down. Before doing so, Tim noted that a T-Rex had broken free of its paddock through the goggles.
