The Night Man is an American comic book series of the superhero fantasy genre. It was published by Malibu Comics under it's Ultraverse imprint from October, 1993 to August, 1995 spanning a total of twenty-three issues. The titular hero of the series is Johnny Domino - a San Francisco jazz musician who has the misfortune of having a piece of shrapnel lodged into his head after his vehicle collides with a cable car. The accident unlocked a dormant psychic ability in Domino, enabling him to telpathically perceive acts of evil. An unfortunate side effect however is the fact that Domino no longer retains the ability to sleep. The initial creative team behind the title consisted of writer/creator Steve Englehart, artist Darick Robertson, inker Andrew Pepoy, colorist Paul Mounts and letterer Dave Lanphear. The series was edited by Hank Kanalz and Steve Gerber.
Night Man #1 includes a flip-cover of Rune, which is one-part of an eight-piece montage image which, when combined with other covers, forms a single graphic. The image is illustrated by Barry Windsor-Smith. The continuing Rune story is continued from Prime #5 and continues in Hardcase #5.
Night Man #1 also shipped with a gold foil variant cover.
