Nick Miller was a minor character featured in the 1968 Stanley Kubrick film 2001: A Space Odyssey as well as the Arthur C. Clarke novel of 2001: A Space Odyssey, published to coincide with the release of the film. Identified only as "Miller" in the film, he was played by actor Kevin Scott. The character's full name was revealed in the novel.
In both the film and the novel, Nick Miller was the chief of security aboard Space Station One. He greeted scientist Heywood R. Floyd and helped to provide him with accommodations. Like many aboard the station, Miller had been privy to the recent media buzz surrounding an alleged quarantine on the moon.
