Biography[]
Nick Manolis was a police detective for the New York City Police Department. He was a good cop with a distinguished service record and a twenty-year history on the force. He also operated as a confidante to Daredevil.
When Nick's young son developed a congenital heart condition, Nick could not keep up with the mounting medical costs. As many do when faced with desperation, Nick found himself in bed with Wilson Fisk - the Kingpin of Crime. Nick played a large role in ruining the career of Matt Murdock, which ultimately saw Murdock getting disbarred. Despite the sudden influx of new money, it was not enough to help his son's condition, and he died on the operating table.
Nick Manolis decided to come clean about his involvement in having Murdock framed and began talking to investigative reporter Ben Urich. A burly nurse from Bellevue Hospital named Lois, who was secretly on the Kingpin's payroll, brutally assaulted Manolis and Urich in the hospital parking lot. She slowly strangled Nick Manolis to death. [1][2]
