The nanotech symbiote is a fictional item featured in comic books published by Image Comics under their WildStorm Productions, and Homage Studios imprints. It later appeared in WildStorm publications produced by DC Comics. It first appeared in the second story from WildC.A.T.s: Covert Action Teams #2 in September, 1992.
The nanotech symbiotes were created by an Asian corporation and was a bio-metalloid compound saturated and controlled by nanotechnology wetware. It included nanotechnology micro-processors that worked in unison together to create a fluid shell with various properties. When attached to a living organism, it generated into an outer shell that was highly durable, but still allowed for fluid mobility.
