N'Gassi is a fictional regent and royal aide and a minor recurring character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and a supporting character in the Black Panther family of comic book titles. He first appeared in Black Panther, Volume 1 #6 in November, 1977.
Biography[]
The elderly N'Gassi acted as functionary and close colleague to King T'Challa, the super-hero known as the Black Panther and ruler of the sovereign nation of Wakanda. During times when affairs called T'Challa out of the country, N'Gassi acted as regent in his stead. When T'Challa's half-brother, Jakarra, transformed into an inhuman monster and began running amok throughout the central districts, N'Gassi coordinated his efforts with the royal family in the hopes of either finding the Black Panther, or selecting a dutiful replacement to carry on the title. He visited T'Challa during his convalescence after the fight with Jakarra and insisted that he remains his bed to recover properly, assuring him that look over affairs of estate in the meantime. Despite his protestations however, the Black Panther ignored the wisdom of his aide and donned his costume in a time of need. [2]
