Allusions[]
- The title of this episode is taken from the Ms. Marvel: No Normal trade paperback collection, which was published in October, 2014.
- Bruno Carrelli reveals that Kamala has a "mutation" in her genes. When this is spoken, a musical drop of the theme song from the 1992 X-Men animated series can be heard. The implication is that Kamala is a mutant, which would make her the second known mutant featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first mutant in the mainstream reality. A version of mutant telepath Charles Xavier appeared in the Earth-838 reality in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
- Nakia Bahadir tells Kamala Khan that they are going for shawarma. This is similar to a bonus scene from The Avengers where an exhausted and battle-weary team is seen eating shawarma after the Battle of New York.
Quotes[]
- Yusuf Khan: You saved lives. And if you saved one life... Well, you saved the world.
....
- Agent Deever: If you're abetting a potential suspect, no one will be on your side, Sheikh.
- Sheikh Abdullah: I don't need anyone on my side. "I'm not even concerned if God is on my side as long as I am on His side. For God is always right."
- Agent Deever: I don't have time for Quranic quotes. Excuse me.
- Sheikh Abdullah: Actually, that was Abraham Lincoln.
....
- Kamala Khan: There is no normal. There's just us and what we do with what we've been given.
