Mrs. Gray was a minor character featured in the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street. She was played by actress Donna Woodrum.
Biography[]
Mrs. Gray was the mother of Tina Gray and lived on Elm Street in the town of Springwood, Ohio. By the year 1984, Mrs. Gray was a single parent, though it is unclear if she was divorced or widowed from Tina's father. It is implied that Mrs. Gray may have been privy to an incident wherein the townspeople of Springwood rallied together to hunt down and kill a known child murderer named Fred Krueger. Although Freddy was dead, his spirit lived on as a vengeful demonic figure that haunted his victims in their dreams. He took his revenge by seeking out and murdering the children of those responsible for his death.
Mrs. Gray was aware that her daughter was suffering from bad nightmares, but could never have imagined that they were being caused by Fred Krueger. When Tina awakened to find slash marks across her night shirt, Mrs. Gray recommended that she should trim her fingernails.
Shortly thereafter, Mrs. Gray and her boyfriend went on vacation to Las Vegas, leaving Tina alone in the house. Unfortunately for her, it would be the last time she would ever see her daughter. [1]
