Mount Athena is located in the Adirondack Mountains in New York State. The peak is named after Pallas Athena - the Greek Goddess of Wisdom. At the top of Mount Athena is the Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. main facility. Mount Athena has seen a lot of action over the years as the laboratory has been host to numerous visitations by super-powered individuals; some of whom have served as allies, but many more arrived as prisoners. Even the great cosmic entity known as the Beyonder came to the facility, wherein he had an altercation with the Avengers. During this affair, the Beyonder had a physical confrontation with Hercules, which caused the entire mountain top to shake. (Avengers 261)
