Biography[]
Morgan Elsbeth was a humanoid female and one of the last survivors of the planet Dathomir. She served with the Imperial Navy of the First Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. [2] Following the war, Grand Admiral Thrawn stationed her on the planet Corvus where she became the magistrate of the city of Calodan. Elsbeth dominated the local villages with a fist of oppression, which was enforced through her lieutenant, Lang. It was not uncommon for Elsbeth to publicly torture those who did not follow the letter of her rule.
Morgan fights against Ahsoka Tano.
In 9 ABY, a Mandalorian named Din Djarin came to Corvus in search of a Jedi. After meeting with Morgan, he learned of a refugee Jedi named Ahsoka Tano, who had killed several of Morgan's scouts. Elsbeth hired Djarin to find and terminate Tano, and in exchange, she was prepared to pay for his services with a beskar staff. Din did not officially accept the assignment, but convinced Elsbeth that he would seek the Jedi out.
Din Djarin eventually found Ahsoka Tano, but he had his own personal interest in keeping her alive and well, and not fulfilling Morgan Elsbeth's wishes. Din and Ahsoka teamed up together to liberate the people of Calodan. Morgan Elsbeth fought against Ahsoka and the strength of her beskar staff was strong enough to withstand a lightsaber blade. Despite this however, Ahsoka proved victorious and Morgan Elsbeth was overthrown. [3]

Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Morgan Elsbeth was created by writer and director Dave Filoni.
- Morgan Elsbeth's Dathomirian heritage is not revealed in the episode itself. Diana Lee Inosanto's hair stylist on the series, Maria Sandoval revealed that Morgan was one of the last survivors of Dathomir, though it is unclear if she was a Nightsister.
- If Morgan Elsbeth is in fact a Dathomirian, she would be the second of such characters presented in a live-action medium. In the 1985 television movie Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, there is a "witch" character named Charal, who has been retroactively identified as a Dathomirian in later media.
- Morgan Elsbeth had a small birthmark or tattoo in the center of her forehead.
- Actress Diana Lee Inosanto is the goddaughter of martial arts legend Bruce Lee. [4]
- Ahsoka Tano spoke of how Morgan helped build the Imperial Starfleet, implying that she was a member of the Imperial Navy during Galactic Civil War.
