The Moore House for Wayward Children was located in Queens, New York City, New York. It was founded and operated by a woman named Mrs. Moore. In the early years of the modern age of heroes, a teenager named Jessica Campbell was brought to the Moore House after her family had been killed in an automobile accident. Mrs. Moore was very caring and sympathetic to Jessica's situation. She arranged for her to be adopted by the Jones family, and the girl legally changed her name to Jessica Jones.
