"Welcome to New Egypt"[]
Marc Spector is a mental patient committed to a state asylum in New York City. He has resided there since he was twelve-years-old, and fantasizes that he is a costumed vigilante known as Moon Knight - or so he has been told. Unable to determine fact from fiction, Marc finds himself the victim of two abusive orderlies named Billy and Bobby. The Egyptian God known as Khonshu speaks to Marc, urging him to break away and seek freedom. Despite Doctor Emmett's process of reinforcing the notion that he has made up the identity of Moon Knight, Marc manages to escape. Racing outside, he finds a cityscape that blends elements of New York City with Ancient Egypt.
