Moon Knight is an American streaming serial series of the action, adventure, and superhero fantasy genre. It is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is the sixth series in canonical MCU continuity to run on the Disney+ streaming service. Branded as a six-part miniseries, it premiered on March 30th, 2022 and concluded on May 4th, 2022. The series stars Oscar Isaac in the role of Steven Grant - a nebbish Englishman who works in the gift shop of the British Museum. Steven suffers from dissociative identity disorder and finds himself at the mercy of his primary alter ego, Marc Spector. As Marc, he has become the avatar for an Egyptian God of Vengeance known as Khonshu, and finds himself executing Khonshu's will as the cloaked Moon Knight. Also starring in the series is May Calamawy as Layla El-Faouly and Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow.
Actor Gaspard Ulliel, who played Anton Mogart in episode three, "The Friendly Type" tragically passed away from a skiing accident on January 19th, 2022 at the age of 37.
In the comics, the character of Arthur Harrow was a very minor figure, who only made a single appearance in Moon Knight, Volume 2 #2 in July, 1985. The MCU version of Harrow bears no resemblance to his comic book counterpart other than name.
The character of Layla El-Faouly is intended as an analog for Marlene Alraune, who was Steven Grant's paramour for many years in the comics.
