Monsters Unleashed is a black and white illustrated magazine series of the horror genre. It was published by Marvel Comics and distributed through Curtis Magazines. It was published from March, 1973 to February, 1975, spanning a total of eleven issues. In addition to random anthology stories, Monsters Unleashed also featured tales starring notable Marvel Universe characters including the Frankenstein Monster, the Man-Thing, Tigra the Were-Woman, the Wendigo, Jack Russell - the Werewolf by Night, and Gabriel Rosetti - the Devil Hunter.

Notes & Trivia
- Frankenstein, and all related characters, are based on concepts developed by English author Mary Shelley's as presented in her 1818 novel Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus. The Frankenstein story has since been adapted and expanded upon in numerous films, novels, comic books and television projects.
- The character of Ted Sallis, aka the Man-Thing was created by writers Roy Thomas & Gerry Conway and artist Gray Morrow. He first appeared in the third story in Savage Tales #1 in May, 1971. Most of the early Man-Thing stories following his inaugural appearance were written by Steve Gerber.
- The character of Jack Russell was created by Roy Thomas, Dann Thomas & Gerry Conway and artist Mike Ploog. He first appeared in the "Night of Full Moon... Night of Fear!" story from Marvel Spotlight #2 from February, 1972.
