Monet St. Croix, also known as M, is a fictional mutant super-hero and a supporting character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and first appeared as Penance in Generation X #1 in November, 1994. She has been associated with several mutant-based organizations including Generation X, X-Factor, the X-Corps, the Hellfire Club, and the X-Corporation. A version of Monet appeared in the 1996 Generation X television movie where she was played by an actress named Amarilis.
