The Molecule expander is a fictional item featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is associated with the Avengers line of titles and first appeared in The Avengers, Volume 1 #23 in December, 1965 in a story titled "Once an Avenger..."
Description[]
The Molecule expander is a high-powered technological item from the futuristic reality known as Earth-6311. Developed and utilized by the conqueror known as Kang, it has the ability to altar the size of molecules within an object, causing them to expand. Likewise, the affected items mass and density will also increase to direct proportion to its size. Kang can activate this device through triggers in his glove.
History[]
While battling the Avengers, Kang activated his Molecule expander and targeted Captain America's shield while it was still upon his back. As the shield began to grow in size and weight, Cap's teammate, Quicksilver, had to pull Cap free from its weight with his super-speed.
