Molecular acceleration can be defined as either a scientific process, or as a super-power. It relates to the stimulation and/or excitement of molecules, which may alter the physical properties of an object or person. An example of this ability is a power used by the mutant adventurer known as Remy LeBeau, aka Gambit. He can molecularily excite the atoms of an inanimate object, charging it with energy. Once this process reaches a critical peak, the charged object will explode. Gambit's preferred method for using this power is to charge playing cards and then throwing them at opponents, at which point they will explode. Gambit can accelerate the molecules of any object, even sandwiches.
