"The Battle of the Id!"[]
Big Barda attempts to re-assert herself as leader of the Female Furies, if only to combat them from within and rescue Scott Free.
Scott meanwhile, has been taken to Section Zero, where the doctors prepare him for battle against a creature of the Id called The Lump. The stage of the battle is in the mind of the opponents. Granny Goodness as well as Virman Vundabar and Kanto attend the festivities as images of the fight from the minds of the combatants are broadcast upon a screen. In the real world, Mister Miracle's foe is literally a lifeless lump, but in the Realm of the Id, he is a mighty warrior. The Lump has a strong advantage against Scott and uses the power of the environment and his imagination to batter Scott down. Scott eventually finds a piece of reflective rock. He holds it up and The Lump is so horrified by the visage of his true form that he falls over inert. Scott Free escapes certain doom yet again.
While all of this is taking place, Big Barda leads the Female Furies on a revolt to raid Section Zero. They break through the energy barrier and fight up against the various soldiers. Once they have secured Granny Goodness, Kanto, and Virman Vundabar, Barda is able to reunite with Scott, who has now freed himself.
