"The Mystery of the Shocker!" is the title to the first story featured in volume two of the Miss America Magazine series. The story was written by Bill Finger with artwork and inks by Pauline Loth. The second story, titled "Introducing Patsy Walker", was written by Stuart Little (not the mouse) with artwork and inks by Ruth Atkinson. This issue shipped in November, 1944 and carries a cover price of .10 cents per copy.

- Supervising editor Jean Goodman is the wife of Timely Comics/Atlas Comics publisher Martin Goodman and the cousin of Stan Lee.
- This is the first appearance of Patsy Walker. During the 1940s and 1950s, Patsy becomes known as a fashion icon. The character is later re-imagined in the modern Marvel Universe as a superhero who begins going by the code name of Hellcat.
- On the Netflix television series Jessica Jones, Patsy Walker is named Trish Walker and is a radio talk-show host.
- The cover model for this issue is Dolores Conlon, who was reportedly only 15-years-old when this photo was taken.
- The Shocker that appears in this issue is a Golden Age Miss America villain. He is not to be confused with Herman Schultz, who is a modern era Spider-Man villain.
