Mile County is a fictional county and city and the central location featured in the Terrifier film series. It first appeared in the 2016 film Terrifier and is also the main setting for its 2022 sequel, Terrifier 2. Miles County makes a smaller appearance in the 2024 sequel film Terrifier 3.
Description[]
Miles County is an "Anytown, USA" environment and is located in the U.S. state of New York. Like many counties, it has its suburban middle-class environments including local businesses and public schools, but also has its low-income districts including abandoned apartment complexes and mental health facilities.
In the late 2010s, Miles County gained national attention due to several grisly murders committed by what the media referred to as the "Miles County Clown".

Notes & Trivia[]
- Miles County is exclusive to the canonical Terrifier film series. It does not appear in The 9th Circle short, which takes place in Realmsville, or the original Terrifier film short, which takes place somewhere between Albright and New York.
- Terrifier 2 establishes that Miles County is in New York. The telephone number on Sienna's medication has a 718 area code, which is New York and services the boroughs of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. With this in mind, it could be argued that Miles County is an analog for Richmond County.
- The opening scenes from Terrifier at the pizza parlor were filmed at Andy's Deer Hills Pizzeria in Deer Park, New York. The apartment building scenes were shot at the Nate Starkman & Son building in Los Angeles, California. [1]
- Suburban and city scenes from Terrifier 2 were filmed in Manalapan, New Jersey. The night club that Sienna, Jeff and Brooke go to is actually QXT's Night Club in Newark, New Jersey. The Halloween store where Sienna first encounters Art the Clown is Abracadabra NYC in New York City. [2]
- Another locale of note featured in the Terrifier film series is the Clown Café. However, this locale exists in a psychic vision dream-state only and is not located in Miles County.
