In the "Spider-Verse", an all-girl punk rock group called The Mary Janes used to practice in the gymnasium at Midtown High School. A student at Midtown High, Peter "Pathetic" Parker was so insecure about all of the other mean-spirited students that he used his knowledge of chemistry to become "special". He injected himself with a serum that transformed him into a lizard monster.
