Biography[]
Michelle Temple Cutter was a young woman and newlywed bride of wealthy heir Grant Cutter, Jr. of Norwich, Roanoke, Virginia. On August 13th, 1953, Michelle and her husband took a small, single-engine Grumman aircraft for a honeymoon trip to Bermuda. The pilot of the plane was former World War II veteran Captain Cooper and his stewardess wife, Wendy. The co-pilot was a man named Francis Eddie Brackett. Time traveler Sam Beckett leaped into the body of Eddie Brackett and discovered that Michelle Temple was fated to die from appendicitis unless they could get her to a hospital quickly. Initially, Wendy thought she was merely suffering from stomach cramps, but when Sam examined her, he knew the situation was dire. Although they tried to keep her comfortable, time was not on their side, and Michelle's appendix burst. When the plane lost its heading in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle, Captain Cooper wanted to turn back, but Sam knew that Michelle would not survive a return trip to Virginia. The only recourse was to keep flying through the Triangle towards Bermuda. Sam and Wendy succeeded in cobbling together a rudimentary IV to stabilize her blood pressure. Although this was only a temporary solution, it kept Michelle alive long enough for them to get her to a hospital in Bermuda. [2]
