Michael O'Hare was an American stage and television actor. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 6th, 1952 and passed away on the 29 September 2012 in New York. He was best known for playing the role of Commander Jeffrey Sinclair on the 1994-1998 television series Babylon 5. He was introduced in the pilot movie, The Gathering and appeared in every episode in season 1. He also appeared in the ninth episode of season two, "The Coming of Shadows" as well as the two-part season three episode "War Without End". Commander Jeffrey Sinclair was the series' central character throughout season one, but O'Hare had to leave after the season because of serious mental illness and Babylon 5 creator Joe Michael Straczynski had to re-write and adjust the plot accordingly. The reason for his departure was not disclosed until after the actor's death, fulfilling the late actor's request.

Michael's first role in the science fiction genre however came a decade earlier when he played a character named Fuller in the 1984 sci-fi/horror film C.H.U.D..
