Michael Edwin Briant is a British television director, production assistant and voice actor. He was born in Maidenhead, Berkshire, England on February 14th, 1942. He is best known for directing episodes of the British science fiction television programs Doctor Who and Blake's 7. He began as an assistant floor manager on Doctor Who in 1965 and worked his way up to production assistant by 1965. In 1971, he made his directorial debut on the series with the story-arc "Colony in Space". He directed six storylines of the show, totalling thirty directed episodes (he worked on forty-six episodes of the series altogether). In 1978, Michael Briant directed five episodes of Blake's 7.
