Michael Curry's mother is a fictional woman and a minor character featured in the Lives of the Mayfair Witches line of novels by author Anne Rice. She appeared in the first book in the series, The Witching Hour, published in October, 1990.
Biography[]
Very little is known of this woman save that she was the mother of Michael Curry and was either the sister or sister-in-law of Vivian Curry. She lived in the Irish Channel of New Orleans, which is where she raised Michael.
When Michael was a child, his mother and he would take walks and Michael would claim to see a strange "Man" standing in the garden of St. Alphonsus Church. His mother never saw the man and the two would laugh about it together as if it were an old game. She would say, "Michael, we don't have time for that man".
Walking down First Street during Christmas time, Michael spotted the strange individual again and pointed him out. She teased him and said, "Well, don't stare at him". Michael' mother likely had no idea that the being that her son claimed to have spotted was actually an immortal spirit known as Lasher.
