The group even headlined their own four-issue limited series in 1994 entitled Metropolis S.C.U.
History[]
The Metropolis Special Crimes Unit (or SCU for short) is a specialized task force that works in conjunction with the Metropolis Police Department. Whereas the regular Metropolis PD deals with conventional crime cases, the SCU tackles the cases that are just too fantastic or overwhelming for traditional crime prevention protocols. They are outfitted and trained to respond in matters that usually involve a superhuman element of some kind. The SCU often collaborates with Metropolis' own favorite son, Superman.
Some of the more notable members of the Metropolis SCU include Inspector Maggie Sawyer, Dan "Terrible" Turpin and Lupe Teresa Leocadio-Escudero. Many of the SCU's cases involve resolving issues relating to the hi-tech crime cartel known as Intergang.
Following the "Battle of Metropolis", members of the SCU reverse-engineered a Kryptonian warsuit and developed a new Simm-Bot armor for their agents. These armors were first deployed during a time when Superman was acting erratically after discovering that he might in fact not be the real Superman. [1]
Members[]

- MacTarnahan was a member of the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit. He was one of the officers stationed at Stryker's Island Penitentiary as part of a unique and special training exorcise. [2]
- Mike Henderson
- Mike Henderson was a detective with the Metropolis Metacrimes Division. He was called in to investigate the apparent murder of former C.I.A. agent, Agent Liberty. After Liberty's body was found floating face down in the bay, he was brought ashore where Henderson confirmed his identity. He consulted on the matter with Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane. [3]
