Mendoza hailed from a future timeline in which a being known only as James conquered the Earth, turning it into a wasteland for demons. Mendoza was a high-ranking executive at the demonic law firm Wolfram & Hart. Mendoza was the lover of James' sister, Rowant Mor. Mendoza was responsible for the murder of a half-demon named Polyphemus Darrow Steele, who was the son of Anne Steele of the original timeline.
