MegaForce is an American action movie that includes elements of science fiction. It was directed by Hal Needham and written by Needham, James Whittaker, Albert S. Ruddy and Andre Morgan based on a story treatment by Robert S. Kachler. It was produced by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and released theatrically in the United States on June 25th, 1982. The film stars Barry Bostwick as Commander Ace Hunter, Michael Beck as Dallas, Persis Khambatta as Major Zara, Edward Mulhare as General Edward Byrne-White, George Furth as Professor Eggstrum and Henry Silva as Duke Guerera.

- This is Hal Needham's first work as a director on a science fiction feature. He is best known for directing films such as Smokey and the Bandit, Smokey and the Bandit II, Cannonball Run, Cannonball Run II and Stoker Ace. Needham was also the stunt double for actor Gary Lockwood in the "Where No Man Has Gone Before" episode of Star Trek.
- This is David V. Lester's first science fiction film as an assistant director. He also worked as a production manager on Star Wars and was an oeffects unit manager on Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
- Actress Persis Khambatta, who plays Major Zara in this film, is best known for her portrayal of the bald-headed Deltan named Lieutenant Ilia in the 1979 feature Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
- Actor J. Victor Lopez is also known for playing the role of Chuey in two episodes of the 1970s series Man from Atlantis. He appeared in "Melt Down" and "Shoot-Out at Land's End".
- Actor Edward Mulhare is best known for playing the role of Devon Miles on the 1982-1984 action series Knight Rider. Other than leading man David Hasselhoff, Edward Mulhare was the only other other actor to appear in every episode of the series.
