Biography[]
Maxwell Grant was the chauffeur of Philip and Laura Russell. Philip Russell, though wealthy on his own merits, coveted the extensive riches of his wife's inheritance from her first husband Baron Gregory Russoff. To this end, he paid Max Grant $10,000 to sabotage the brakes on Laura's Rolls Royce. As he had hoped, Laura took off driving and lost control of the vehicle, swerving off the road and crashing into a tree. She sustained critical injuries and died in a hospital bed the following evening.
Laura's son, Jack Russell, had inherited something from Gregory Russoff as well - the curse of the werewolf. On the night of the full moon, Jack transformed into the werewolf and fought with Max. Max was a large, muscular man and faired pretty well against the werewolf's superior strength. During their fight, he nonchalantly bragged about sabotaging the brakes on Laura's car. Something in the werewolf's consciousness comprehended the meaning behind Grant's words and he sank his canine teeth into Max's jugular, killing him. [1]
