Matthew Ryder is a fictional scientist and time traveler, and a recurring character featured in titles published by DC Comics. Because of the vagaries of time travel, as well the publisher's penchant for rebooting their continuity once a decade or so, there have been multiple versions of Matthew Ryder, who is also known by the code name Waverider. Waverider was introduced in the first issue of the [[Armageddon 2001 Vol 1|Armageddon 2001 comic book limited series in 1991. An alternate version of the character was introduced in Superman, Volume 2 #59, also in 1991.
