Biography[]
Mary Jo Bently was a young woman with long brown hair from Boston, Massachusetts. One evening, she was walking through Boston Common with her boyfriend Tom, with whom she was quarreling. Their conflict unresolved, they went their separate ways. As Mary Jo was walking home, a large red tentacle erupted from out of nowhere and dragged her away. Perhaps she perished at that moment, as some would believe, or perhaps she became an undead disciple for some demonic force. [1]
Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Mary Jo Bently was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan.
- Although the source material implies that Mary was killed instantly, additional information suggests that her corpse might have been recovered from an ambulance and resurrected to serve as a disciple to Satan House.
