"Wolf at Bay" is the title to the twelfth issue of the first Marvel Team-Up ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It was plotted by Gerry Conway and scripted by Len Wein. Artwork was provided by Ross Andru with Don Perlin on inks. It was colored by Glynis Oliver and lettered by Charlotte Jetter. The story was edited by Roy Thomas. This issue shipped with an August, 1973 cover date and carries a cover price of .20 cents per copy. This time around, Spidey finds himself teaming up (sorta) with furry frenemy Jack Russell, aka the Werewolf by Night! Of course, they have to swap blows with one another first before teaming up to combat a common enemy. You know how it goes.

- The character of Spider-Man was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. He first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in August, 1962 in a story titled "Spider-Man!" The character has since gone on to become one of the most well-known and enduring super-heroes of all time, having appeared in numerous comic book titles, as well as feature films, animated projects and video games.
- The character of Jack Russell was created by Roy Thomas, Dann Thomas & Gerry Conway and artist Mike Ploog. He first appeared in the "Night of Full Moon... Night of Fear!" story from Marvel Spotlight #2 from February, 1972.
- This issue is reprinted in black and white in Essential Marvel Team-Up, Volume 1 from April, 2002 and the Essential Werewolf by Night, Volume 1 trade paperback collection, released in 2005. It was first reprinted in full-color in Marvel Treasury Edition #18 in November, 1978. It was also reprinted in the in the Werewolf by Night Omnibus, Volume 1 from 2015 and the Werewolf by Night: The Complete Collection, Volume 2 in 2018 and the Werewolf by Night: The Complete Collection, Volume 1 in 2017. It was also reprinted with digitized coloring in the Marvel Masterworks: Werewolf by Night, Volume 1 hardcover collection in September, 2022. - This issue was published in between Amazing Spider-Man #123 and Amazing Spider-Man #124 as well as Werewolf by Night #8 and Werewolf by Night #9. Jack Russell appeared last in issue #8.
- This storyline continues in Daredevil #103, "...Then Came Ramrod!", guest-starring Spider-Man.
- Peter Parker reflects upon the recent death of his girlfriend Gwen Stacy. This took place in Amazing Spider-Man #121. This leads into the subsequent seeming demise of Gwen's killer, the Green Goblin from Amazing Spider-Man #122, also referenced in this issue.
- Spider-Man makes reference to Luke Cage, aka Power Man. He tangled with Cage recently in Amazing Spider-Man #123.
