"Island of the Damned!" is the title to the fourth issue of the comic book anthology series Marvel Spotlight, which is a "Werewolf by Night" feature published by Marvel Comics. The story was written by Gerry Conway with artwork and inks by Mike Ploog. Ploog also rendered the cover art illustration to this issue. It was lettered by Sam Rosen and edited by Stan Lee. This issue shipped with a June, 1972 cover date and carries a cover price of .20 cents per copy.
Plot[]
In this issue, Jack Russell learns that his family estate has been purchased and relocated to Blackgar Island. He meets a researcher named Buck Cowan who believes that the ancient mystical text known as the Darkhold may still be in the castle. Jack's hope is that the Darkhold might hold the key towards finding a cure for his lycanthropy.
