"Murder at the Racetrack" is the title to the first story from issue #2 of the Marvel Mystery Comics comic book series published by Timely Publications. The story is a Human Torch feature written and drawn by Carl Burgos. The second story spotlights The Angel, Tom Halloway, and was written by Ray Gill with artwork by Paul Gustavson. The third story, "Attack on New York City", features the Sub-Mariner, and is written and drawn by Bill Everett. Next is "The Town of Wanted Men" featuring the Masked Raider, which is illustrated by Al Anders. The fifth tale is a reprint story called "Origin of the American Ace", featuring the American Ace, and is drawn by Paul J. Lauretta. After that is a two-page illustrated text story featuring the Angel again called "Death-Bird Squadron". It is written by David C. Cooke with artwork by Charles J. Mazoujian. The final vignette is a Ka-Zar tale featuring David Rand called "The Battle with Bardak", and is illustrated by Ben Thompson. Artist Charles J. Mazoujian provided the cover art composition for this issue. This issue shipped with a December, 1939 cover date and carries a cover price of 10 cents per copy.
