Martin Jordan is a fictional pilot and a recurring character featured in comic books published by DC Comics. He is associated with the Green Lantern line of titles and first appeared in a flashback story from Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn #1 from December, 1989. The character also made an appearance in the 2011 Green Lantern feature film where he was played by actor Jon Tenney.
Biography[]
Martin Jordan was an Air Force test pilot and an employee of Ferris Aircraft. On a fate-filled mission, Martin failed to save a malfunctioning fighter jet and crashed to the ground. His young son Hal witnessed his father's death and was forever haunted by his passing. Hal always wondered if his father died with fear in his heart, and as he grew older, he committed himself to honor his father's memory and bravery.
