Mars Attacks! is an American feature film of the science fiction and comedy genres. It is based on a series of trading cards produced by Topps. The film was directed by Tim Burton and written by Jonathan Gems. It was produced by Burton's Tim Burton Productions and released through Warner Bros. on December 13th, 1996. Mars Attacks! features an all-star cast who find themselves caught up in the frenetic and insanely bizarre circumstances of trying to survive an alien invasion by two-foot high, big-headed Martians that scream "Ack-Ack". Notable actors featured in the film include Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close, Annette Bening, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Sarah Jessica Parker, Martin Short, Natalie Portman, Rod Steiger, Michael J. Fox, Tom Jones, Jim Brown, and Christina Applegate.
