Marlena Diamond is a fictional monster victim and a supporting character in the 2008 found footage film Cloverfield. She was played by actress Lizzy Caplan.
Biography[]
Marlena Diamond was a young woman from New York City, New York in the mid 2000s. She ended up going to Robert Hawkins' going away party as a friend of a friend of a friend. She was largely a wallflower at the event, but somehow caught the attention of Hud Platt was tasked with being a videographer of the event.
That evening, a mysterious giant monster began terrorizing the island of Manhattan. The partiers were forced to evacuate and find shelter in the subway. This monster had smaller parasitic creatures clinging to it, and one such creature attacked Marlena and infected her. She began feeling extremely sick. The group managed to get her to a medical shelter, but it was too late. She began coughing up blood and her upper torso began to swell to the point that it exploded.
