American Horror Story[]

Maria, last name unknown, was born in 1949. In 1968, she was attending school as a nursing student and was rooming at the L.A. "Murder House", along with several friends. A man known as R. Franklin, came to the house on a rainy night, claiming that he had been injured in an accident. Maria let him into the house and offered to dress his wounds. R. Franklin, who was actually a serial killer, killed Maria's friend Gladys, then forced Maria to don a nurse's uniform. He then walked behind the couch and stabbed her repeatedly until she was dead.

Astounding Wolf-Man[]

Maria was a young Latina woman from New York. She worked as a uniformed maid at the Hampton estate owned by Gary and Rebecca Hampton. Shortly after suffering a horrific animal attack at Willow Creek Campground, Gary returned home. When his wife returned to the house, she called out to him, but then found Maria, and asked her where Gary was. She told Rebecca that he was in his study. (Astounding Wolf-Man 1)

Judge Dredd[]

Maria was the housekeeper of law-enforcement officer Joseph Dredd. She was often assisted by a robot or "wobot" named Walter. She often spoke with a strong Italian accent, even though she was not Italian at all. After years of working for Dredd and even joining in the resistance in the Apocalypse War, she was kidnapped by Mean Machine Angel and his brother Fink, who mistook her for Dredd's wife, after which she resigned and vowed never to work for Dredd again. She became a homeless alcoholic. Maria died in 2126 and left all her money (revealed to be a sizeable amount despite her homelessness) to Dredd, which he promptly donated to several Mega-City One charities.

Universal Monsters[]

Maria was a young girl who lived in Frankenstein Village in Bavaria, Germany. She was the daughter of a fisherman named Ludwig. One afternoon, Maria wanted Ludwig to play with her, but he had to go to work, so he encouraged her to play with her kitten instead. Maria went down to a nearby lake and was playing with flowers. She encountered the Frankenstein Monster, who was curious and had taken an interest in her. Maria was not afraid of the monster and invited him to kneel down and play with her. She told him how she could use flowers to make a boat, and began throwing flower petals into the water to show the monster how they would float. Excited, and wanting to participate, the Monster imitated her actions. He then decided to add a new level to the game and wanted to see if Maria could float as well. He scooped her up and tossed her into the water where she drowned. Her father found her body moments later and brought it into the village crying that his daughter had been murdered. (Frankenstein (1931))
